Depending on arrival time, spend the afternoon at leisure, enjoying the garden setting, mountain views, or a relaxed introduction to northern Tanzania. This first day keeps the pace gentle before the safari begins.
After breakfast, travel to Tarangire National Park, known for elephants, baobab trees, river valleys, and seasonal wildlife gatherings. As the landscape opens into plains, the safari takes on a wider, more cinematic rhythm. Arrive in the Serengeti for an afternoon game drive before settling into camp surrounded by open wilderness.
Spend the day exploring the Serengeti’s grasslands, riverine areas, kopjes, and predator territories. Game drives may reveal lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and abundant birdlife. Depending on the season, your guide may shape the day around migration movement, big cats, or quieter wilderness areas.
Enjoy a final Serengeti game drive as you travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The scenery gradually shifts from open plains to volcanic highlands, creating a beautiful change in mood. Arrive near the crater rim or surrounding lodge area and settle in before the following morning’s crater descent.
Descend early into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive across one of Africa’s most wildlife-rich landscapes. Search for lions, elephants, buffalo, hyenas, hippos, flamingos, and, with luck, black rhinos. After the crater experience, return to Arusha for airport drop-off, hotel transfer, or onward travel arrangements.
