Gorilla Safari Lodge

Located in the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Gorilla Safari Lodge is surrounded by afro‑montane forest ridges and valleys. Elevated ground provides wide canopy views and situates guests inside one of Uganda’s most important gorilla habitats, recognized for its conservation and tourism significance.

Positioned only minutes from the gorilla trekking briefing point, the lodge serves as a practical base for visitors. The main building includes a dining room, lounge, bar, and spa treatment space, designed to provide comfort after trekking. Location

Set in the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the site is five minutes from the gorilla trekking briefing point. Travel takes 8–9 hours by road from Kampala, 1–2 hours by flight from Entebbe, and about 1 hour from Kisoro town.

Rooms

Accommodation consists of 18 cottages, including three family units with inter‑leading rooms. Each has en‑suite bathrooms with hot showers, solar lighting, mosquito nets, and wooden balconies overlooking the forest. Selected cottages feature fireplaces or stand‑alone baths, with cobblestone paths linking them to the main lodge.

Facilities include solar‑powered lighting, daily laundry service, and WiFi connectivity. Rooms are equipped with hot water bottles, dressing gowns, mosquito nets, and safes. Evening fireplaces add warmth, while staff assist with trekking permits, guided walks, and transfers. Meals are served as three‑course dinners or outdoor breakfasts.

Gorilla trekking begins only minutes away, with trailheads easily reached. The Rushaga sector also offers the gorilla habituation experience, giving visitors up to four hours with a gorilla family. Guests can join Batwa cultural visits, hike to Bayenda Falls, explore by mountain bike, or take guided community walks.
