ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where your private guide welcomes you and transfers you to your hotel. Depending on arrival time, spend the afternoon at leisure or explore Entebbe’s lakeside atmosphere. This first day is intentionally gentle, allowing you to rest before the journey into Uganda’s national parks begins.

Day 2: Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, travel north toward Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest protected wilderness. The journey passes towns, rural landscapes, and changing scenery before reaching the Nile region. Arrive at your lodge, settle in, and enjoy the evening atmosphere as the river, savannah, and distant wildlife set the tone.

Day 3: Game Drive and Nile Boat Safari

Begin with a morning game drive across Murchison’s savannah, searching for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, lions, antelope, and rich birdlife. In the afternoon, take a boat safari along the Nile toward Murchison Falls, where hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds, and riverbank wildlife gather before the river forces itself through a narrow gorge.

Day 4: Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest

fter breakfast, begin the scenic journey south-west toward Kibale Forest. This is a longer travel day, moving through rural Uganda, tea landscapes, crater lake country, and views of the Rwenzori region where conditions allow. Arrive near Kibale, settle into your lodge, and prepare for the following day’s chimpanzee tracking.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enter Kibale Forest in the morning for chimpanzee tracking with expert guides, following calls through one of Africa’s finest primate habitats. After the trek, return for lunch and a short rest before driving south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in time to settle into your lodge and ease into the savannah atmosphere.

Day 6: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Spend the morning exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park on a game drive across open savannah, crater landscapes, and wildlife-rich tracks. Look for elephants, buffalo, lions, antelope, warthogs, and rich birdlife. In the afternoon, enjoy a Kazinga Channel boat safari, with hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, and waterbirds gathered along the shoreline.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, travel toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Depending on the selected trekking sector, the route may pass through Ishasha, where tree-climbing lions are sometimes seen resting in fig trees. Arrive at your forest lodge near Bwindi, settle into the rainforest atmosphere, and prepare for the next morning’s gorilla trek.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After an early breakfast, attend the gorilla trekking briefing before entering Bwindi’s dense rainforest with experienced rangers and trackers. The trek varies by gorilla location and terrain, but the reward is extraordinary: one hour observing a mountain gorilla family in its natural habitat. Return to the lodge for rest, reflection, and a quiet evening.

Day 9: Rest Day or Optional Bwindi Experiences

Spend a slower day in Bwindi after the intensity of the gorilla trek. Relax at the lodge, enjoy the forest atmosphere, or add an optional activity such as a Batwa cultural experience, guided forest walk, community visit, birdwatching, or a second gorilla trekking experience if permits are available and arranged in advance.

Day 10: Bwindi to Kigali

After breakfast, begin the scenic transfer toward Rwanda. Complete border formalities, then continue through Rwanda’s green hills to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy lunch, a short city stop, or direct airport drop-off.
